Crash kills Dublin man in Troy Twp.

A 47-year-old Dublin man was killed in a traffic crash Saturday morning in Delaware County’s Troy Township, according to state troopers.

The Delaware post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said it is investigating a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 7 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 23 near milepost 16.

Dead is David D. Poplar, 47, of Dublin.

Poplar was traveling south on U.S. 23 while operating a 2007 Audi A-4, troopers said. The vehicle crossed the center lane, both northbound lanes of travel, and continued off the east side of the road, striking a concrete bridge structure.

Poplar was pronounced dead at the scene by the Delaware County Coroner’s Office, troopers said. The northbound lanes were closed for about two hours.

The crash remains under investigation, troopers said.

Troopers were assisted by Tri-Township Fire Department, Delaware County EMS, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Delaware police and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
