Students prepare wreath for DC trip

Katie Smith, Evelyn Fowler, Mary Grace Duffy and Abby Stephens, eighth-graders at Delaware’s Dempsey Middle School, hold a wreath Thursday afternoon that will be laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier next week during the eighth-grade’s Washington, D.C., trip. School officials said the students won essay contests in order to be able to place the wreath next week. Students leave on the trip on Monday. The wreath was donated by Josie Posie Flowers.
