A Delaware teen was still in serious condition Tuesday afternoon after being involved in a car-motorcycle crash on Coover Road Monday morning.

Staff at OSU Wexner Medical Center said that Nathan Worthy, 18, of Delaware was in serious condition.

Worthy driving a motorcycle on Coover Road just before 10:30 a.m. Monday when a car stopped at the end of a driveway at 500 Coover Road and attempted to turn left, state troopers said.

Worthy’s westbound motorcycle collided with the car, which was driven by Peggy Smith, 57, who was leaving her house at the time, troopers said. Troopers did not report any injuries for Smith.

A medical helicopter landed at nearby Buckeye Valley High School and transported Worthy to OSU Wexner Medical Center.

Troopers reported that witnesses saw Worthy traveling at an excessive speed. Witnesses added that Worthy had been test-driving the motorcycle and had originally traveled east on Coover before turning around and heading west.

No charges have been filed. Troopers said an investigation is ongoing.

In an unrelated accident, troopers also responded to a crash at the intersection of State Routes 61 and 656 in Kingston Township at 2:52 p.m. Monday.

Troopers said Anthony Jordan, 36, of Mount Gilead hit a culvert and lost control of his truck, sending him into a tree.

Emergency responders reportedly had to use an extrication tool to remove Jordan from the wreckage. Jordan was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital with non-life threatening injuries via helicopter, troopers said.

Staff at Riverside confirmed Jordan was still a patient Tuesday afternoon but could not provide a condition.

Jordan was cited for failure to control.
