Luvata Ohio Inc. in Delaware was recently selected as a 2016 “Partner of the Year” by Career-Based Intervention, a division of the Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education.

The award recognizes Luvata Ohio for its expertise and commitment in preparing students to enter the world of work, company officials said.

CBI instructor Nicki Wright presented the award to Craig Conroy, plant manager with Luvata Ohio, at the CBI state convention at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Dublin on May 1. Wright is responsible for the satellite program from the Delaware Area Career Center at Dempsey Middle School.

“ Luvata has been very supportive in sharing with our youth the importance of manufacturing in our community and around the world,” Wright said. “Luvata has given our students an experience they will remember for a lifetime.”

“With an ongoing need for highly skilled workers, we want to be part of the solution in better preparing students for the evolving skills required in manufacturing as well as the wide variety of opportunities manufacturing has to offer,” Conroy said.

Luvata Ohio employs about 100 employees and is a leading manufacturer of resistance-welding electrodes. Luvata Ohio also offers MIG and laser brazing wire, MIG contact tips, adapters, connectors and other copper formed components. In 2015, it shipped nearly 50 million pieces.
