‘Beautiful Cemetery’ reading next Friday

0

A performance of “The Most Beautiful Cemetery in Chile,” a book of poems by Chilean poet Christian Formoso co-translated by Delaware resident and poet Terry Hermsen, will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. next Friday at the Andrews House in Delaware.

The performance is free to the public and will consist of a 45- to 50-minute readers theater presentation by four of Hermsen’s colleagues and students at Otterbein University in Westerville, where he teaches creative writing and English.

“The Most Beautiful Cemetery in Chile” is the first book for the new small press — Green Fish Press — that Hermsen began last year. Green Fish Press will concentrate on poetry from Latin America, especially from Chile, a country which Hermsen has visited three times and intends to return to.

Copies of the book will be for sale. A talk-back discussion will follow the reading.

The Andrews House is at 30 W. Winter St.
