Local 4-H members win awards

Two Delaware County 4-H members recently received 2016 Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center in Columbus.

Sarah Lehner was recognized with the National 4-H Dairy Conference Award which was sponsored by COBA/Select Sires. Sarah Mugge was recognized with the Clothing & Textiles Achievement Award which was sponsored by Huffman Family.

Lehner, 16, is an 11-year 4-H member from Delaware County and the daughter of Earl and Beth Lehner. She focuses on improving her family’s farm through her 4-H dairy experiences and being an advocate for the dairy industry. She plans a career in agricultural communications or dairy cattle genetics.

Mugge, 17, is a nine-year member of Set 4 Success 4-H Club in Delaware County. Her main project areas are clothing and textiles, nutrition and market lambs. She is the daughter of Scott and Melanie Mugge from Powell and is entering her senior year at Olentangy Liberty High School.

4-H Achievement Award winners will attend the National 4-H Congress with youth from all over the country in November in Atlanta, Georgia.

The evening was hosted by the Ohio 4-H Foundation.
