Delaware police report:

Fireworks were set off Saturday night in the area of East Winter Street and Lewis Street. Police report a large party on Winter Street continued to set off fireworks late Saturday night. Police charged the resident with disorderly conduct, along with numerous other charges.

Officers investigated a claim of child endangerment at a home on Eaton Street Friday morning. Police, along with investigators from Delaware County Children’s Services, checked the home and found “deplorable” living conditions that included filth, trash and gnats. Three children were at the home during the investigation and officers found other accommodations for them. A report was filed and an investigation is pending with Children’s Services.

Police noticed a man stumbling in the area of West Winter Street Saturday just after 2 a.m. Police stopped and found the man was intoxicated and had a warrant out for his arrest after he failed to appear in court elsewhere in Ohio. However, the warrant was not within the pick-up radius and therefore not valid in Delaware. Police report the man was unable to care for himself because he was too intoxicated and asked if he knew someone who could take care of him. When the man could not name anyone, he was taken into custody for disorderly conduct via intoxication and held until sober.

A father on Indigo Blue Street reported Saturday morning that he had discovered some bruising on his juvenile son’s arms and legs. He told police he believed the bruising was sustained while his son was visiting relatives out of state. Officers filed a report and forwarded the case to Delaware County Children’s Services because no criminal activity was reported in the city. The father was directed to local law enforcement out of state in the area where the boy was visiting.
