Park programs set this month

Preservation Parks of Delaware is offering several free programs.

They include:

• “Back-to-School Supplies Hike,” Saturday, July 16, 10 a.m. Donate much-needed school supplies to help local children in need get a great start to the school year, and enjoy a hike with the parks’ mascots. Free, all ages. Emily Traphagen Park, 5094 Seldom Seen Road, Powell.

• “Railroad Open Houses,” Saturday, July 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday, July 17, noon to 4 p.m. The Delaware County Model Railroaders hold open houses for visitors to see model trains travel through a miniature village and countryside. Free, all ages. Big Walnut Community Trailhouse, 168 S. Vernon St., Sunbury.

• “Hound Hike,” Monday, July 18, 6 p.m. Bring your socialized canine for a walk with a naturalist. All ages. Emily Traphagen Park.

• “Thursday Evening Concert Series,” Thursday, July 21, 7 to 8:30 p.m. That week will feature the Rachel Karryn Band, a county blues band. Admission and parking are free, and donations are welcome. Attendees may bring blankets, lawn chairs and refreshments, or purchase food from a food truck. Alcohol is prohibited in the park. Free, all ages. Gallant Woods Park, 2151 Buttermilk Hill Road, Delaware.

Registration is not required for the events.
