A Delaware man injured in a crash on Marysville Road last week was listed in fair condition Tuesday, hospital staff report.

Andrew Hartman, 21, of Delaware, was leaving Midway Market on Marysville Road in Ostrander the afternoon of Sept. 22 around 4 p.m. in his 2004 Buick LeSabre when he turned into the path of a westbound Dodge truck, according to troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The truck hit Hartman from the side and Hartman was unresponsive when troopers arrived. Troopers said Hartman was trapped in his car and had to be extracted before he could be treated.

Hartman was flown by helicopter to OSU Wexner Medical Center. He was in critical condition for a number of days.

The occupants of the truck, driver Kevin Taylor, 43, and Sandra Taylor, 47, both of Woodstock, Ohio, were not injured.

Meanwhile, an Ashley man, Nathan W. Cain, 24, was still in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after being injured in a crash on Case Road the night of Sept. 24.

State troopers report that Cain was traveling east on Case Road between Panhandle Road and Horseshoe Road about 8:17 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road, drove his Jeep off the road and hit a tree.

Troopers said they believe alcohol is a factor in the crash.

Cain was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital and then was then flown by helicopter to OSU Wexner Medical Center with serious injuries.

Hospital staff said Tuesday that he is still in the surgical intensive care unit in critical condition.

Troopers said both crashes remain under investigation.
