Charges have been filed against a Delaware woman in connection with an August crash on London Road that left a Delaware man dead.

Marilyn Fowler, 60, of 33 Downing Road, Delaware, was charged Monday with one charge of vehicular manslaughter, a second-degree misdemeanor, and a right of way violation, a minor misdemeanor. She is scheduled to appear in Delaware Municipal Court on Friday at 8:30 a.m.

Killed was Keith Estep, 29, of 16 Hedgerow Lane.

Estep was traveling east on a motorcycle on London Road on Aug. 4 when Fowler started a turn into Estep’s path and he could not stop in time. Police said Estep was traveling at 50 mph in an area that is limited to 35 mph.

Estep reportedly hit Fowler’s Gray 2005 Mercury Mariner on the side.

Police and rescue units arrived minutes later and Estep was transported by Delaware city rescue units to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Fowler reportedly sustained non-incapacitating injuries.

Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be a factor in the crash and Fowler said she was not distracted when she made the turn, police say.

No other vehicles or persons were involved in the crash, the report says.
