The Willis High School class of 1945 held its 70-year high school reunion Sept. 24 at in the Community Room of Buehler’s. “Our class graduated during World War II,” says class member Mary Arnold. “Some of the fellows graduated early so they could enter the service. … Our school collected scrap metal and sold savings bonds stamps at school.” More than half of the class has passed away, “but there are about 10 of us who meet every other month at Buehler’s for lunch,” she said. “They are doing away with Willis but we have fond memories of the school.” Pictured are (front row, left to right) Charlotte Rogers, June Moncur, Martha Doland, Joan Strohl, Martha Marks and Ruth Angus; and (second row) Mary Arnold, Betty Carbin, Dick Adams, Lynn Raney and Reggie Moncur.
