Delaware police report

The principal at Delaware Hayes High School contacted police working a basketball game on Friday to report a 17-year-old was intoxicated in the stands. The principal told police that he saw the student stumble and fall in student seating and learned he had been drinking alcohol. Officers contacted the student’s grandparents to come and retrieve him. Charges of underage consumption were filed with the Delaware Juvenile Court.

Officers were summoned to a residence on Franklin Street Sunday just before 12:30 a.m. to deal with a fight. Police learned there was a dispute between a juvenile resident and another juvenile and both sides complained that the other was being disorderly or threatening them. Police took a report and forwarded the investigation to the Delaware County Juvenile Court for follow up due to conflicting statements. Later that night, two adults were upset about the previous incident and confronted the involved juveniles. During the confrontation, one adult had an air soft pistol and used it to threaten the others. Officers recovered the toy pistol and charged the man with aggravated menacing before arresting him. Another individual was issued a summons to appear in Delaware Municipal Court for disorderly conduct.
