Weather spotter course set Thursday

Delaware County Emergency Management, in partnership with the National Weather Service, will host the 2017 Severe Weather Spotter Course on Thursday, March 30 at 7 p.m.

The location of the course is the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities, 7991 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center. A meteorologist from the National Weather Service Wilmington Office will teach the course and it will last approximately two hours.

Most recently, Delaware County has been impacted by tornadoes in 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2016. This course will help participants learn how thunderstorms form, the dangers of flooding and lightning and tornado safety. This course is recommended for anyone with an interest in severe weather, there is no age limit.
