The women of Second Baptist Church will hold the Annual Women’s Day Celebration on Sunday, May 21 at the 11 a.m. worship hour. The theme is Women Walking by Faith.

The speaker will be Dr. Freddie L. Jordan from St. Phillip Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus, where she serves as facilitator of the Sunday school class and church choir. She is the immediate Past-President of the Dayton Local Section of the American Chemical Society.

She received her B.S. in Biology from Jackson State University and a PhD in Biochemistry from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, and completed Postdoctoral Fellowship training in Neuroscience. She serves as an Adjunct Faculty of Chemistry, in the Natural Sciences Department at Central State University. She teaches both classroom and on-line chemistry courses.

Dr. Jordan is the parent of three young adult children (two Ohio State Buckeyes). She serves as a board member of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, as wells as on several Community Development Corporations, civic associations and academic task forces on women and science.

Our solo singers will be Janet Netter and Stacey Morrell. The praise dancer will be Brittany Benjamin.
