Staff at Hayes High School called the school resource officer Monday to report that a student was absent from class and could not be found. The student was unaccounted for, but was located sitting in the commons area. The school resource officer contacted his mother, who said he had been acting unruly at home as well. The mother asked that unruly charges be filed against the teen.

Officers responded to a home on Richards Circle Monday evening to investigate a person who entered a residence and vehicle without permission. During the investigation, police learned the suspect had an active arrest warrant and began to search for the man. Police found him in the area of U.S. 23 and Cotswold Drive and attempted to stop him on foot but he fled. After a short chase, he was taken into custody.
