McVay graduates from West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Cadet Sean Adam McVay, son of Barbara and Ben McVay, and brother of Selena McVay, of Galena, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy on Saturday, May 27.

Sean graduated from Big Walnut High School in 2012. While at West Point, he concentrated his studies in Electrical Engineering. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army within the Infantry branch.

The mission of the U.S. Military Academy is to educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the Nation as an officer in the United States Army.

Dean’s List at Grove City College

GROVE CITY, Pa. — The following students were named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2017 semester at Grove City College.

Olivia Ebert, a Business Management major has been named to the Dean’s List with High Distinction. Olivia is a 2014 graduate of Home School and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Ebert (Jennifer) from Delaware.

Jonathan Burton, a Biology/Health major has been named to the Dean’s List with Distinction. Jonathan is a 2015 graduate of Worthington Christian High School and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Burton (Rebecca) from Ostrander.

Maddie Bauder, a Business Management major has been named to the Dean’s List with Distinction. Maddie is a 2015 graduate of Tippecanoe High School and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Bauder (Wendy) from Powell.

Wei-En Lu, a Mathematics major has been named to the Dean’s List with Distinction. Wei-En is a 2015 graduate of Home School and is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Chao-Wen Lu (Ching-Shiang) from Westerville.

Ben Dumm, a Biochemistry major has been named to the Dean’s List with High Distinction. Ben is a 2014 graduate of Saint Francis De Sales High School and is the son of Dr. Timothy Dumm from Westerville.

Students eligible for the Dean’s List have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the Dean’s List with Distinction a GPA of 3.60 to 3.84 and for the Dean’s List with High Distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0.

Campbellsville University Dean’s List

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The academic honors’ dean’s list for the Spring 2017 semester has been announced by Dr. Donna Hedgepath, Campbellsville University’s vice president for academic affairs.

University of Findlay graduates

FINDLAY — More than 1100 graduates were recognized for earning degrees from the University of Findlay for the academic year 2016 – 2017.

Students earning doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s or associate degrees were invited to walk in the University’s commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 6.

More than 250 Marietta College seniors graduated and received their degrees during the 180th Commencement at Marietta College on May 7.

Westyn Bennington of Ashley earned a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. Bennington is a graduate of Buckeye Valley High School.

Brian Raiff of Galena earned a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. Raiff is a graduate of Olentangy High School.
