Dr. Larry and Emma (Snively) Dixon of Delaware celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary March 21, 2014.
They were married March 21, 1964, at Yellow Springs United Methodist Church.
Their children will hold an house house for them from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at Asbury United Methodist Church. The couple requests no gifts.
The couple has four children, Doug Dixon and his wife, Beth, of Avon Lake, Ohio, Dr. Thomas Dixon and his wife, Cherie, of Bellbrook, Ohio, Trevor Dixon and his wife, Jenni, of Bay Village, Ohio, and Margaret VanFossen and her husband, Brent, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
They have eight grandchildren, Julia, Adam, Olivia, Nathaniel, Gigi, Rosie, Rachael and Eliza.
Dr. Dixon served in the Army from 1966 to 1968 at Fort Knox. He began his general dentistry practice in March 1968 and retired in December 2004. He is active in Asbury UMC, having served on numerous committees and just finished serving on the Mid-Ohio district DCOM for three years.
Emma is a full-time homemaker and volunteer at church and public schools. At Asbury, she has taught Sunday school at all levels and has served on most committees, chairing several. She is currently in her 41st year as an officer for Ashbury’s United Methodist Women. At the district level she served 17 years, including president and spent four years as a conference officer. She is a member of AAUW and PEO.
In retirement they are enjoying camping, time at Myrtle Beach and visiting children and grandchildren.
