Honorees for the 107th banquet are as follows:
Mary Price, more affectionately know as Miss Mary, was a lifetime residence of Delaware County. Miss Mary was a school teacher and retired in 1946, spending 38 wonderful years teaching and caring about young children in their early school years. She began her teaching career in 1908 at the one-room school house in Dildine District on Dildine Road. Her salary range was $25 to $40 per month. In 1916, the Radnor School was built and she spent the rest of her teaching career, totaling 31 years at the Radnor School.
Miss Mary was a past matron of the Delaware County Chapter Order of Eastern Star, the Delaware County Historical Society, Radnor Grange, and an active member of the Radnor Congregational Church where she taught Sunday School. The Radnor Alumni Association salutes Miss Mary for her contributions to the Radnor area.
Patty Coonfare was a 1959 graduate of Radnor High School. She married Paul Coonfare in June of 1960. Paul and Pat have 2 sons, Scott and Todd. They have 2 grandchildren, Matt 19 and Maggie 11. They are the children of Scott and Dana Coonfare.
Pat worked for the Delaware Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. and retired in 1996 after 32 years. After retiring she worked part-time for Marion Rural Electric and Mid Ohio Energy.
Paul and Pat attend the William Street Methodist Church in Delaware, Ohio, and the New Horizon Church while in Florida. Pat is a volunteer at House Blest in Florida which distributes food and clothing to needy families.
Pat is an excellent choice as an honoree by the Radnor Alumni Association. She started volunteering for the alumni in the 1960’s and has been a volunteer ever since. She has served on many committees and is presently secretary of the alumni organization. For many years, Pat can be seen planting the flower beds at the Radnor Township Cemetery. That’s around 50 some years of voluntary service. What a record, she deserves a “pat on the back”, (no pun intended).
Paul, a former honoree, and Pat have contributed so much to the success of the Radnor Alumni Association. The association salutes you as well for what you have done for the Radnor area.
