Nathan Bonofiglio picked up a solid singles win while the duo of Jason Watkins and Paul Claymier nearly won their doubles match, but it wasn’t enough as visiting Worthington Kilbourne knocked off Hayes 4-1 in the two teams’ first league match of the season Tuesday in Delaware.

Bonofiglio was sharp all the way through his battle at third singles, winning 6-3, 6-4. Claymier and Watkins, meanwhile, came on strong toward the end only to fall in two sets, 3-6, 6-7 (5-7), at first doubles.

In other action, Hayes’ John Homan fell 2-6, 0-6 at first singles, Nathan Miklas lost 0-6, 0-6 at second singles and the duo of Paul Winters and Brandon Becker fell 0-6, 1-6 at second doubles.

The Pacers are scheduled to return to action today against host Westerville South.
