Zoofari, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium’s annual wild party-fundraiser, takes place on June 21.
“Aside from the entertainment, the event is pretty similar to in years past,” Zoo spokeswoman Jennifer Wilson told The Gazette. “There’s over 100 restaurants that will have servings for guests to enjoy, as well as drink stations.”
Zoofari includes music by the Reaganomics, JT Hillier, Tim Duffy and The Whitt Brothers, Chapel Hill and others. In addition, a 1967 Camaro convertible will be raffled off.
The adults-only event takes place throughout the Zoo, with the exception of the North American and Congo Expedition sections. Because of Zoofari, the Zoo will close to regular guests at 3 p.m. A VIP party takes place at 6 p.m., and the main event is from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
In its 44th year, Zoofari proceeds benefit the Zoo’s conservation and education programs. The event is presented by Nationwide Insurance. For tickets, visit www.columbuszoo.org.
In other Zoo news, Wilson said attendance has been great.
“The weekends have been really nice,” she said. “Heart of Africa has been a big hit for people – we’ve had a lot of people come and check that out.”
