To the editor:
Don’t you think it’s time, that we as a people stand up and demand that the” powers that be” start working for us?
The school levies are out of control. The city and county officials are still allowing more and more building; more homes mean more traffic and crime. People move to our area to get away from the big city problems, but with all of the building, we are bringing those big city problems here. Our elderly, our children and grandchildren can’t afford these increases.
The “powers that be” only think about what they want, not what the taxpayers want. We have a right to demand that they start acting in the best interest of the taxpayer, not in the best interest of those in power. All public officials should be required to take a drug test administered by an independent party, if they fail it, they lose their job, their pension and be required to obey the same rules they we are required to follow. The citizens of Delaware City and County need to stand up and let their voices be heard. Write a letter, call them, petition, picket, do something.
God gave us the knowledge to make the right decisions, we need to use it.
