Several former Delaware County standouts have had productive months of March, making a name for themselves on and off the field of play.
Delaware Hayes graduates Lindsey Norris and Jessica Ward, members of the University of Findlay women’s swimming and diving team, helped the squad achieve Scholar All-American status. The College Swimming Coaches Association of America recently presented the Team Scholar All-American Award to teams which achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Olentangy graduate Tate Stover, meanwhile, a member of the Capital University men’s lacrosse team, was recently selected as an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Player of the Week.
Stover, who helped the team move to 2-1 for the season with a 7-5 victory over Siena Heights (Mich.) last week, was named Defensive Player of the Week. He forced 10 turnovers and four ground balls to help spearhead a strong defensive effort. Capital allowed just three goals through the first three quarters and forced 27 Siena Heights turnovers. The Crusaders also held a 32-24 advantage in ground balls.
Finally, Big Walnut graduate Jordan Lyle was one of four Capital University track and field athletes to garner All-Ohio Athletic Conference accolades thanks to a solid showing at the OAC Indoor Championships earlier this month at the University of Mount Union.
Lyle finished second in the pole vault, posting a school-record mark of 11-04 1/4.
