LIMA — The first homicide of the year in the city is a 21-year-old man shot in the head at his residence, with his 8-month-old daughter inside the home.
Quantez Tennant was found dead at 431 Hazel Ave. A family member called police to report finding him at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Lima Police Maj. Chip Protsman said.
“We got a call that somebody was shot inside the residence,” Protsman said.
Tennant’s young daughter was not hurt, Protsman said.
Tennant’s body was sent to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office in Toledo for an autopsy, Protsman said.
Police have not arrested anyone and have no suspects, Protsman said.
Tennant’s death remains under investigation. There remains a lot of work to do, Protsman said.
Tennant did not own the house, located east of the Jameson Avenue overpass. It is owned by Fisher Investment Property, according to records from the Allen County Auditor’s Office.
Police are asking for the public’s help with any information that may help them solve the case. Call Det. Andy Johnson at 419-221-5296 or the main number at 419-227-4444.
