An Orange Township firefighter was indicted for aggravated burglary Friday.
Donald Tuller Jr., 43, of Delaware, was charged with one count of aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, for an incident on Nov. 22, in which Delaware Police responded to 17 Lewis Street after Tuller entered the residence without permission, according to the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office. Tuller and the homeowner, who know each other, engaged in a physical altercation, after which Tuller fled the scene.
Also present was a female subject with whom Tuller had a prior relationship. Police said the type of relationship is unclear, though one person involved indicated the two had possibly dated.
He was arrested by police and Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies at his home.
Tuller has been a firefighter in Orange Township for 21 years, according to township records.
Gail Messmer, Orange Township administrator, said the Township Trustees will be discussing any needed action by the township fire department Monday at the trustee meeting.
Tuller is currently out on bond. An arraignment date has not yet been set.
