The Delaware County District Library will host a Teen Job Fair April 23 at the Delaware Branch.

The job fair will give area teens and employers an opportunity to meet with each other, as well as give teen participants help with filling out applications and writing resumes.

“Currently, we are expecting a variety of local employers who need help, whether it be seasonal, part-time or full-time,” said Nicole Fowles, community specialist for DCDL. “Some of the highlights include Wendy’s, Goodwill Industries, the City of Delaware, the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, and more.”

Library staff will help teens develop resumes and learn interview techniques and etiquette.

“We’re also doing mock interviews for teens who have never had a job interview before,” said Teen Librarian Mandy Henning.

The fair is intended to improve employment prospects for both the applicant and the employer, and is open to all area teens.

“Really, this is a good opportunity for local businesses to see applicants in person and get a feel for the individual right off the bat,” Fowles said. “It helps speed up their hiring process, so they don’t have to filter through resumes.”

The job fair begins at 6 p.m. at the Delaware Main Library, 84 E. Winter St. For more information, visit www.delawarelibrary.org/event/teen-job-fair-1.
