A man and woman are facing felony charges stemming from the robbery of an elderly Lewis Center woman earlier this month.
Emmie Lowery, 42, Delaware, and Shelvis Hairston, 41, Columbus, were indicted by a Delaware County Grand Jury Thursday on seven counts in connection to the Aug. 2 robbery of 80-year-old Rometta Everman.
“When authorities reached the Lewis Center home of 80-year-old Rometta Everman, she reported an unknown male assailant had entered her garage after she pulled her vehicle inside,” Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien said in a press release. “Mrs. Everman said her purse, which included credit cards and cash, had been stolen.”
Lowery later used the credit card to make purchases at two southern Delaware County Speedways, according to the indictment.
Hairston, who has an extensive criminal history in Franklin County, is facing charges of aggravated burglary and robbery.
Lowery is charged with aggravated burglary, robbery and two counts of identity fraud. Lowery has had several run-ins with Delaware County law enforcement officials, including at least three cases that resulted in prison sentences. She faces a repeat violent offender specification on two of her current charges.
An arraignment date has not been scheduled.
