Now that Thanksgiving and Black Friday are over, Christmas is right around the corner.

At Andrews House it’s time for our annual Christmas Cupboard fundraiser. We’ve trimmed our Christmas tree, decked our halls, and we are ready for our 2013 Christmas Cupboard on Saturday Dec. 7 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. This year we will have a preview of our Silent Auction on Friday Dec. 6 from 6-9 p.m. Groups from the Delaware Community Chorus will provide music on both days for your listening enjoyment.

Do your holiday “shopping” while supporting Andrews House and its programs and enjoying the beauty and ambiance of the house. This year we have some great gifts available in our silent auction including the new American Girl doll, gift certificates to area restaurants such as Buns, signed OSU memorabilia, and we even have an orientation flight around Delaware County available.

While the Christmas Cupboard helps you get ready for Christmas, you in turn will be giving back to your community. This year, as every year, we’ll have a huge selection of wonderful Christmas cookies baked by our partner churches and volunteers. We’ll also have homemade, frozen ready-to-bake apple pies for sale.

It will be your last chance to buy raffle tickets where you can enter to win either a beautiful stained glass nativity (made by board member Milt Wyman) or a week-long stay in a condo near Phoenix, Arizona and your last chance to buy a car raffle ticket for the chance to win a 2014 Chevy Cruze provided by Chesrown Chevrolet. Both drawings will be held at 3 p.m. on Dec. 7 at Andrews House.

This year you can give the gift of music with “Sharing the Light,” a beautiful Christmas CD with musicians from Williams Street Church. The CD will be for sale at the Christmas Cupboard. William Street United Methodist Church will have a live concert with music from the CD on Sunday Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. This CD benefits Andrews House and the ministries of William Street Church.

All proceeds from the Christmas Cupboard support the programs and services of Andrews House. Last year we served over 7,200 lunches to children at our Summer Lunch Program and the Mobile Market has grown from 125 to 306 households since last December. All of our programs benefit from this fundraiser.
