William Earl ‘Bill’ Underwood

William Earl “Bill” Underwood, 51, of Delaware died Wednesday (Oct. 14, 2009) evening at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born July 13, 1958 in Tampa, Fla. to John and Jacqueline (Dye) Underwood. He was a former hotline worker for HelpLine of Delaware and also had previously worked in housekeeping for Ohio Wesleyan University and in the billing department for Farmers Insurance Company. Most recently he was working in maintenance at Advanced Auto in Delaware. A Delaware resident since 1966, he was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and a member of the Eagles Lodge 376, both of Delaware. He enjoyed his computer, video games, playing pool, karaoke and singing and spending time with his family. He was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns.

He is survived by a son, Jason Underwood and his girlfriend, Star Melton of Delaware; two grandchildren, Jorden Frost and Kayla Underwood; three brothers, Steven of Columbus, Skip of Flatwoods, Ky. and Jim (Rita) of Prospect; sister, Shari (Jerry) Furay of Delaware; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will sadly be missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather James Miller, who raised him.
