Roberta J. ‘Bobbie’ Herd

Roberta J. “Bobbie” Herd, 71, of Cardington and formerly of Dublin, went peacefully after a long courageous battle with Lewy Body/Dementia on Sunday (Oct. 18, 2009) at the Woodside Village Nursing Home in Mt. Gilead.

She was born Dec. 5, 1937 in Columbus and had been a receptionist for Advanced Distribution Services, Columbus. She was also a loving wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles “Mike”; two sons, Rex Allen (Cindy) Herd of Tulsa, Okla. and Scott Randall (Shellie) Herd of Orient; daughter, Audrey Annette Fox of Ashley; brother, Ed (Betty Ann) Benner of Columbus; sister, Carol (John) Marsh of Vienna, Va.; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St., Delaware where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, with the Rev. Andy Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Westfield Cemetery.
