Letter to the editor: ‘Over 200 people looking for great food’

To the editor:

There was a huge buzz in downtown Delaware the night of June 15. The town was crawling with over 200 people looking for great food from 12 restaurants during the inaugural Taste of Downtown Delaware, produced by the Delaware Rotary Club and benefiting the Delaware County Hunger Alliance and the Delaware Rotary Foundation.

And because of these 12 outstanding restaurants, we were able to raise nearly $6,000 for charity.

Thank you to Amato’s Wood Fired Pizza, Backstretch Bar, Bun’s Restaurant, Choffey’s, Home Slices Bakery & Café, J. Gumbo’s, OPA Grill & Tavern, Restoration Brew Worx, Roop Brothers Pub, Sarah Moore Community, Son of Thurman and Whit’s Frozen Custard.

Delaware rocks, and the Delaware Rotary Club is very appreciative of our over 200 guests, event sponsors, participating restaurants and the community for supporting this new endeavor. See you next year!
