Good Friday is observed in downtown Delaware with Walk with the Cross. The procession stopped at six locations; at each a speaker shared how the cross of Christ and that location – a coffee shop, a funeral home and a bank among them – relate to different aspects of life. The walk was organized by the Delaware Ministerial Association and included different area churches.

O’Brien refuses to withdraw from race

With less than three weeks until the May 6 primary election, the leader of the Delaware County Republican Party (DCRP) is calling for a candidate to withdraw from a contested race for a county commissioner seat.Bob Mann, chairman of the party’s central committee, has asked Delaware County Commissioner Ken O’Brien to drop out of the race, citing the fact the party will be legally required to select a successor for O’Brien if he wins the seat.
