The divisions may change, but, for the Olentangy Liberty wrestling team, the end result always seems to stay the same.

The Patriots picked up their third straight OCC championship Thursday, winning the OCC-Buckeye Division with a 56-9 win over the host Warriors, a top-eight finisher in last weekend’s Division I State Dual Team Tournament, at Westerville North High School.

Liberty won back-to-back OCC-Cardinal Division titles before this season’s realignment moved it into the Buckeye.

Patriot point producers included Trey Grenier (14-3 major decision at 145 pounds), Connor Brady (7-3 win at 152), Kyle Lawson (pin at 160), Trevor Lawson (pin at 170), Cole Fitzpatrick (pin at 182), Davin Lambert (pin at 285), Blake Saito (pin at 106), Brakan Mead (21-6 tech fall at 113), Jordan Rosselli (pin at 120), Luke Blaine (19-1 tech fall at 126) and Cam Everson (9-8 win at 138).

BOYS BASKETBALL

Buckeye Valley struggled to find its scoring touch in the early going and never quite recovered, falling to host Marion Harding 46-37 in MOAC action Thursday night.

The Barons played solid defense throughout, especially in the opening quarter, but trailed by four points heading into the second despite allowing just seven first-quarter points. They trailed 18-12 at halftime and, after losing the third 14-10, found themselves in a 32-22 hole with eight minutes to play.

Elijah Jackson led Buckeye Valley with 10 points to go with three rebounds and three assists. Ben Spaulding was also steady, closing with eight points and four boards, while Braxton Wells chipped in six points and six rebounds.
