A Nov. 22 date has been set for the Delaware County Board of Elections to determine whether or not a recount will be necessary to determine who won a third seat on the Olentangy school board this election.

Olentangy Local School Board incumbents Stacy Dunbar and Kevin O’Brien secured their seats along with newcomer Adam White.

Candidates for Powell City Council, Olentangy School Board, as well as Liberty and Orange Township trustee fielded questions about tax levies, cost-cutting measures and traffic congestion this week at a public forum put on by the League of Women Voters.

Four candidates are seeking an Olentangy School Board seat on the Nov. 8 ballot.

Some elected officials in Delaware County have chosen to bow out of public office at the end of the year, while other familiar faces are seeking to make a return to the ballot this November. In total, 101 people filed paperwork with the Delaware County Board of Elections to run for 62 various township, school board and village and city council positions. The deadline for candidates wishing to run for local offices expiring at the end of this year passed at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
