A last-minute com­pro­mise pro­duced a truce, but law­mak­ers said the fight is not yet over.

Kerry, McCain push Libya resolution

WASHINGTON — Two top sen­a­tors on Tues­day unveiled a res­o­lu­tion giv­ing Pres­i­dent Barack Obama lim­ited author­ity in the 3-month-old war against Libya, warn­ing that the dras­tic step of cut­ting off funds for the mil­i­tary oper­a­tion would be a life­line to a weak­ened Moam­mar Gadhafi.

US lawmakers mock Obama claim on Libya hostilities

WASHINGTON — Repub­li­cans and Democ­rats on Thurs­day derided Pres­i­dent Barack Obama’s claim that U.S. air attacks against Libya do not con­sti­tute hos­til­i­ties and demanded that the com­man­der in chief seek con­gres­sional approval for the 3-month-old mil­i­tary operation.
