Kronemer, Reid, Strome named NCAC Players of Week

Ohio Wes­leyan Uni­ver­sity senior Sharif Kro­ne­mer (Sil­ver Spring, Md./Springbrook), fresh­man Katie Reid (Marion/Harding) and senior Nathan Strome (Sid­ney) have been named North Coast Ath­letic Con­fer­ence Play­ers of the Week for the week of April 23, it was announced by the NCAC.

Junior catcher James Toland (Stow/Walsh Jesuit) smashed 3 home runs and senior first base­man Nathan Strome (Sid­ney) crushed a timely 3-run homer to power Ohio Wes­leyan to a dou­ble­header sweep of Wit­ten­berg in North Coast Ath­letic Con­fer­ence West Divi­sion play on Sun­day at Littick Field.

Bott powers Bishops past Heidelberg

Junior sec­ond base­man Zach Bott (Dublin/Coffman) drove in 4 runs and belted Ohio Wesleyan’s first homer of the sea­son as the Bish­ops out­slugged Hei­del­berg 13–11 in non-conference play on Wednes­day in Tiffin.

Ohio Wesleyan softball stops Mount St. Mary

Sopho­more short­stop Erica Bryan (Wapakoneta) drove in 2 runs and junior righthander Amanda Barker (Granville) hurled a complete-game vic­tory as Ohio Wes­leyan edged Mount St. Mary 5–3 in non-conference action on Fri­day in Cape Coral, Fla.

Baseball: Capital withstands Bishop rally

Fresh­man out­fielder J.J. Buckey (Toledo/Ottawa Hills) sin­gled home a pair of runs to bring Ohio Wes­leyan within a run, but Cap­i­tal held off the Bishop rally and escaped Littick Field with a 7–6 non-conference win in Ohio Wesleyan’s home opener on Wednesday.

Bishops’ Brady named NCAC Player of Year
