COLUMBUS — Ohio Republicans picked a first-term state treasurer as their U.S. Senate nominee Tuesday and delivered easy victories to a host of GOP congressional incumbents, including House Speaker John Boehner.
If a GOP congressional redistricting plan goes through as expected, Pat Tiberi’s district should become safer for his future re-election. But as an interesting by-product, Tiberi will also no longer represent the neighborhood where he grew up.
U.S. Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-Genoa Township) won his last election in 2010 by a comfortable 14 percent margin, defeating Franklin County Commissioner Paula Brooks, a Democrat.
