Delaware Area Career Center student Kenneth Ruzika was killed Tuesday in a crash near Mill Run Crossing. Police and paramedics arrived on the scene shortly before 11 a.m., Delaware City Police Capt. Bruce Pijanowski said. Ruzika, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

How better to get settlers to move into uncharted and untamed lands than to promise them the sustainability and wealth that comes from the ownership of land? Give them the land for free on the promise that they will go and settle that land, turning it from wilderness to useable farmland, timberland or pasture. The policy worked for America, it worked for the Spanish in Florida and it worked for Mexico in parts of what is now the American Southwest.
A Delaware City man was arrested after he allegedly forced his way into an occupied van, crashed it into a mobile home, broke into a nearby trailer, stole a parked vehicle, then fled to a home about a half-mile away.
