The Pelo­to­nia bike ride might be a once-a-year hobby for Pow­ell res­i­dent Mitch Phelps, but the cause it sup­ports is his career. A 1992 Ohio Wes­leyan grad­u­ate, Phelps, 41, has pulled out his moun­tain bike the past three years. Par­tic­i­pants in the grass­roots can­cer research fundrais­ing bike ride can choose their route and dis­tance, either 25-, 43-, 80-, 102– or 180-mile ride, some that tra­verse through the hilly regions of Hock­ing County.
