Mild winter means less road salt needed for county next year

After an unusu­ally mild win­ter in which the county was required to use very lit­tle salt on its road­ways, the Delaware County Engineer’s Office this year will need to pur­chase about half the amount of salt that it nor­mally does, com­mis­sion­ers learned Monday.

Transmission line public hearing draws few comments

The Ohio Power Sit­ing Board (OPSB) held a pub­lic hear­ing ear­lier this week at the Big Wal­nut High School Audi­to­rium to hear pub­lic con­cerns about the Trent-Vassell 138 kV Trans­mis­sion Line Project. The Trent-Vassell Trans­mis­sion Line would con­nect the Vas­sell Sub­sta­tion east of Sun­bury, now under con­struc­tion, to Amer­i­can Elec­tric Power’s exist­ing Trent-Delaware 138kV Line.
