Jordan’s legislation could hamper Myers’ ability to serve

For­mer Delaware County Sher­iff Al Myers’ quest to become a Delaware County com­mis­sioner may have hit a speed bump yes­ter­day with the intro­duc­tion of leg­is­la­tion by State Sen. Kris Jor­dan (R-Powell) that would pre­vent for­mer pub­lic offi­cials con­victed of cer­tain ethics vio­la­tions from hold­ing pub­lic office until all con­di­tions of their sen­tence have been fulfilled.

Former Delaware County commissioner charged with conflict of interest

For­mer Delaware County Com­mis­sioner Todd Hanks is expected to appear in court Mon­day to admit that he ille­gally used his for­mer office to ben­e­fit com­pa­nies with which he had a pri­vate busi­ness rela­tion­ship, accord­ing to court doc­u­ments filed Friday.

178th Delaware County Fair under way

The Delaware County Fair offi­cially kicked off its 178th year Sat­ur­day morn­ing at the flag­pole near the Junior Fair Build­ing. Fair offi­cials, as well as the City of Delaware Fire Depart­ment, Boy Scout Troop 108 and Girl Scout Troop 373, were part of Saturday’s open­ing cer­e­mony mark­ing the begin­ning of a week­long of agri­cul­tural events, exhibits, fair food, rides, and of course, The Lit­tle Brown Jug race.
