Former Delaware County Sheriff Al Myers’ quest to become a Delaware County commissioner may have hit a speed bump yesterday with the introduction of legislation by State Sen. Kris Jordan (R-Powell) that would prevent former public officials convicted of certain ethics violations from holding public office until all conditions of their sentence have been fulfilled.

The Delaware County Fair officially kicked off its 178th year Saturday morning at the flagpole near the Junior Fair Building. Fair officials, as well as the City of Delaware Fire Department, Boy Scout Troop 108 and Girl Scout Troop 373, were part of Saturday’s opening ceremony marking the beginning of a weeklong of agricultural events, exhibits, fair food, rides, and of course, The Little Brown Jug race.
Delaware County Recorder Melissa Jordan called 911 to report a domestic incident at the house of her and her husband, State Sen. Kris Jordan, last week.
