Despite Delaware Police Chief Russ Martin’s recommendation, Delaware City Council agreed to not contest a liquor permit as requested by Nova Restaurant, LLC. Martin said a routine liquor permit background investigation revealed some “disconcerting” information, such as the current charges against restaurant owner Denise Dunlap.
A Radnor Township man was convicted this week on 14 sex charges this week following the man’s 2009 arrest at a Hilliard hotel room, where he thought he was meeting a 15-year-old girl for sex, and the subsequent discovery of child porn on the man’s computer.
Columbus resident Matthew Overmyer, 31, was arrested after engaging in a standoff with Delaware County deputies in Lewis Center Monday afternoon.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office began training its new chief deputy, John Petrozzi, this week. The position had not been filled since Sheriff Walter Davis took office in June 2007.
