WASHINGTON — Americans are starting to see some relief from higher gas prices, a change that could revive the economy in the months ahead.

The hundreds of people who ate pancakes, sausage, eggs, orange juice, coffee and milk for 50 cents may have considered their weekend breakfast a steal.

WASHINGTON — A sharp jump in gas prices drove a measure of U.S. consumer costs up in February. But outside higher pump prices, inflation stayed mild.
