Tiberi: Losing childhood home from congressional district ‘disappointing’

If a GOP congressional redistricting plan goes through as expected, Pat Tiberi’s district should become safer for his future re-election. But as an interesting by-product, Tiberi will also no longer represent the neighborhood where he grew up.

It might not be easy to put up new signs along a state highway, but designating the Sunbury exit with a sign pointing the way to the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial was a top priority for Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) officials. Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial committee member Darrin Klinger approached the deputy director at ODOT District 6 a few weeks ago about having signs installed on the highway denoting that the memorial is off the Sunbury exit at Interstate 71.

Officials hire new employees to sit on county board

Saying they are too strapped for time to do it themselves, two Delaware County elected officials have hired people to sit on the Delaware County Board of Revisions, the government body through which people can contest their appraised property value. One of the “new” employees is no stranger to Delaware County government — Treasurer Jon Peterson has hired his retired predecessor, Dale Wilgus, 67, for a part-time job in his office. Wilgus retired in 2009 after serving more than 20 years as Delaware County treasurer.
