The Delaware City Planning Commission this week rejected arguments for owning urban chickens, despite arguments from several residents who expressed an interest in the trend.
Bed bugs have been in the national news lately. Infestations are up 5,000 percent and the critters, the Cimicidae parasite, can spread from hospitals, businesses, buses, apartments and hotels and enter our homes. Ohio has four cities in the top 20 identified in the recent bed bug epidemic – Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Dayton.
The office has been busy taking in 4-H entry forms for the Delaware County Fair. Our Fair will open on September 17th, which is just three weeks away. We have been gearing up for a few weeks now. The weather is feeling more “fall like” and it reminds us that fall is clearly around the corner. Forecasters are calling for near normal temperatures and below normal rainfall for these next two weeks.
