Tighter security for SAT, ACT in wake of cheating

MINEOLA, N.Y. — The mil­lions of stu­dents who take the SAT or ACT each year will have to sub­mit pho­tos of them­selves when they sign up for the col­lege entrance exams, under a host of new secu­rity mea­sures announced Tues­day in the after­math of a major cheat­ing scan­dal on Long Island.

Piecing together the library’s display of quilts

The quilts are back! The won­der­fully tal­ented mem­bers of the Delaware Piece­mak­ers Quilt Guild have once again gra­ciously lent their quilts to the Delaware County Dis­trict Library for a month-long dis­play at the Delaware Main Library, 84 E. Win­ter St., to cel­e­brate Nation Quilt Month. The quilts, draped artis­ti­cally from the rail­ing on the mez­za­nine enhance the Library with color, cre­ativ­ity and warmth.

New accuser files 1st Penn State suit, Sandusky

PHILADELPHIA — For­mer Penn State assis­tant foot­ball coach Jerry San­dusky sex­u­ally abused a boy more than 100 times, and threat­ened to harm his fam­ily to keep him quiet, accord­ing to a law­suit filed Wednes­day by a new accuser who is not part of the crim­i­nal case.
