A for­mer Delaware Town­ship main­te­nance worker on Tues­day admit­ted to steal­ing tax­payer money to buy him­self clothes and other per­sonal items. Anthony F. Amato, Jr., 34, of 510 Anna Rose Lane in West­er­ville, also agreed to tes­tify against his mother, Delaware Town­ship Fis­cal Offi­cer Phyl­lis Amato, who is accused of con­ceal­ing her son’s expen­di­tures and pay­ing him for full-time work even though he was a part-time employee.

Rude guests, not pot, led to shooting, defense attorney says

Con­trary to what pros­e­cu­tors said they intend to argue, Joel E. Sell­ers did not kill his room­mate over a mar­i­juana home grow oper­a­tion, Sell­ers’ defense attor­ney said in a recent court fil­ing. While acknowl­edg­ing that his client shot and killed George McArthur V, 24, on March 14 fol­low­ing an argu­ment between the two, pub­lic defender John Cor­nely in a May 12 fil­ing paints a more mun­dane pic­ture over the fight that led up to the shooting.
