With help from Smith Elementary School students, retired art teacher Lynda Elias works on a mosaic at the school. The permanent art was made possible through a grant provided by the “Very Special Arts” program, which works to expose art to all age groups. Elias and the students have been working on the mosaic throughout the week. (Gazette | Devon Immelt)

Delaware artists inspired by books

“Delaware Artists Are Inspired by Books.” What a lovely idea! And what a lovely exhibit of several pieces of art created by members of the Delaware Artists Guild that is currently on display at the Delaware County District Library’s Main Library, 84 E. Winter St. Featuring several different types of media and artistic techniques, the exhibit highlights books that gave the artists inspiration to create.
