COLUMBUS — The chair­man of the Ohio Demo­c­ra­tic Party on Wednes­day hand­ily beat back a chal­lenge to unseat him in a party squab­ble with impli­ca­tions for this fall’s pres­i­den­tial elec­tion in a crit­i­cal swing state.

Columbus mayor beats ex-policeman to win 4th term

COLUMBUS — Colum­bus Mayor Michael Cole­man has defeated a for­mer police sergeant to win his fourth term. That paves the way for the Demo­c­rat to become the city’s longest con­tin­u­ously serv­ing mayor. Cole­man would earn that dis­tinc­tion if he serves out his full term in Ohio’s largest city, and he has said he will.
