The Delaware County District Library invites you to a very special program entitled “Disappearing Landscapes” featuring nationally known local artist Linda Wesner, who will discuss her passion for landscapes, particularly those in Delaware County. Wesner has been a resident intermittently for 25 years, but since her last return, she noticed that beautiful scenes are disappearing daily, and she is trying to capture the rural side of Delaware County before it vanishes to growth and development.

A visit to the Delaware County District Library would ideally be a long and leisurely experience, with ample time to browse the shelves, allow your kids to plan in the children’s area, read a magazine, surf the Internet, or to simply relax in a welcoming niche. As delightful and restful as that sounds, we fully recognize that sometimes you do not have the time for that ideal visit in today’s busy world. I am certain that you, like me, sometimes need ways to make your life easier and make getting things done faster and more efficient.

The residents of Delaware County are certainly finding the Delaware County District Library’s new Orange Branch! Since it opened in May, the Orange Branch has registered an astounding 5,700 new customers through June. Thank you, Delaware, for your support and for embracing this new branch facility and all it has to offer.
Recently, a patron of the Delaware County District Library shared a wonderful story that deserves to be share with all of you. A very lovely woman dropped by my office to thank me for having eBooks available at the library because she enjoyed downloading them to read on her Nook at no cost. The addition of eBooks to the library’s collection has provided patrons with yet another format to access their favorite author or book. Anyone with a Delaware County Library card can download eBooks to their eReader (except for Kindles, at least for the time being), iPad, iPhone, or computer by clicking on “EBooks” on our website.
