CINCINNATI — The governor on Monday mobilized the National Guard to tornado-ravaged areas of southern Ohio where nearly 300 homes, businesses and government buildings were damaged by the storms and winds.

The development could change the debate on illegal immigration from securing the border to handling the people who are already here.

Three Delaware County veterans have continued serving others even after completing their commitment to the military. In recognition of that service, they were each declared “outstanding veterans” during a Veterans Day ceremony at the Delaware County Center for Older Adults.

Incumbent Richard Cline, as well as newcomers Jon Bennehoof and Mike Crites, snagged the election bids for three open seats on Powell City Council. Cline was the lone council member seeking his seat after sitting council members Don Grubbs and Art Schultz (who also currently serves as Powell mayor) did not file for re-election.
